Alliance Technologies Corp.: Leading the way to communication convergence

Responsive to the needs of your business and keeping at pace with the changing world, Alliance Technologies Corporation (ATC) has provided small and medium enterprises (SME) and multinational companies state-of-the-art communication solutions and technologies from some of the world’s leading and in-demand technology providers.

With over 200 clients from contact centers, multinationals, and North American-based companies, ATC guarantees top-notch technical support services which makes them a reliable service provider for all IT needs.

And as ATC continues to expand its products and services, they are confident that their high-end technology systems will be a sellout as more international businesses set foot in the Philippines which demands for excellence, superior work, modern facilities and infrastructures capable to compete to the rest of the world.

Distributing advanced communication solutions in the Philippines

ATC was organized in 1990 by a group of professionals from the IT industry. Back then, the company distributed mainframe computers (referred to as the Big Iron for its huge size) to large offices that were used mainly for critical applications.

But as technology rapidly evolves and telecommunications become a commodity, the company adapted more advanced computer systems capable of carrying out various and complicated tasks. It was at that point that ATC reached a distribution agreement with the American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T), the largest local and long distance telephone, wireless, and DSL internet service provider in the US, that would allow them to sell AT&T products and services to multinational companies in the Philippines.

Carrying one of the biggest brands in the world, ATC didn’t have any difficulties in selling AT&T to their target market. The reliability of AT&T’s product became synonymous to the quality of service that ATC gives to its clients. Upon signing with AT&T, ATC served its first multinational clients: Citibank and SYKES Philippines for their call center needs. From there, ATC became the prime distributor of high-end technology devices.

Telecommunication Technology at its finest

After a successful stint with AT&T, the company tapped another international communication solutions brand. This time, working with Avaya brought about strong partnership that will distribute sophisticated telephony systems to small and medium scale enterprises, and of course, call centers.

A spin off from Lucent Technologies (an offshoot company of AT&T), Avaya is a US-based telecommunications company that manufactures and specializes in VoIP (Voice-over Internet Protocol), contact center and mobile voice and data technology. Known for its advanced telephony system, Avaya Communications is widely used by the US Fortune 500. Avaya eventually cascaded in the Asia Pacific upon the emergence of call centers and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.

Here in the Philippines, ATC is the authorized distributor of Avaya’s communication solutions. The company has installed Avaya products to some of the top SMEs, multinationals, and BPOs in the country. Among ATC’s clients for Avaya are: Accenture Philippines, AT&T Philippines, Citibank, Colgate Palmolive, E-Telecare, Honda Cars, IBM Philippines, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Motorola Philippines, Sykes, and many more.

Although expensive, many companies in the Philippines prefer Avaya for its superior communication technology products. “Recognizing that the US Fortune 500 uses this product, other companies follow. For example if the parent companies in the US use Avaya, Citibank, Intel, or American Express in Asia Pacific automatically follows. So, it’s not hard to introduce this. It’s only hard if the companies we are selling are not Americans because the challenge is the cost. Our equipments, if not 20 or 30%, are sometimes double the cost of other brands,” narrates Francis Patron, ATC President and CEO.

Aside from Avaya products, ATC also sells media servers, media gateways, communication devices, and customer relationship management (CRM) software from other well-known brands such as: Lucent Technologies, NICE Systems, Sun Microsystems, Servion Global Solution, and CRM.

In the midst of Information & Communications Technology (ICT)

The boom of the BPO industry has placed a lot of opportunities for small enterprises like ATC. Being in the loop with the latest trends in ICT allowed the company to tap the best IT products for a much bigger market.

As ATC brings Avaya, Lucent Technologies, NICE Systems in the Philippines, our capability to have modern and high-tech facilities puts us in the cutting edge of offshore work. In addition, carrying the brand Avaya or any of these top brands indicates that Filipinos are in-depth with the advances in communication technology.

ATC is also an avid promoter of ICT in the Philippines. Though the company is just a distributor of communication technology devices, still, they would like to showcase Filipinos’ capability in understanding modern technology.

The company also joins local and international trade fairs to feature their products to outsourcing companies. A particular event that ATC regularly participates is the E-Services Philippines, a Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) organized trade fair, which promotes Philippine ICT Advantage here and around the world.

It was through E-Services Philippines where ATC got an opportunity to do business with the biggest names in the IT industry. This also gave Patron and the rest of ATC an advantage to tap some companies that wish to outsource.

Beyond the company’s successes, Patron believes that other Filipino IT players can also be recognized in the business. All it takes is sheer determination to prove that the Philippines is competitive in anything that is technology.

“Our strength is that we’re still competitive… that’s the key point! While India was ahead of us three to five years ago in telecommunications industry, now, we’re very competitive when it comes to telephone lines. Second, government, through PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority), has granted SMEs to establish their businesses within Metro Manila. Lastly, there are people that have enough talents to be tapped,” Patron proudly states.

ATC, a company beyond IT

Aside from being the authorized dealer of Avaya, ATC plans to venture beyond IT industry. The company is thinking to diversify their products. At present, ATC is in the process of signing up with another major company as it embarks in water processing technology. It may sound oddly to some of their contemporaries. However, Patron believes that there’ll be a major requirement for water technology in the future.

“There are other products that we’re looking beyond IT which may sound different to you. But we’re in the process of signing with GE. We found out that several companies have engaged in water technology which to us is a different product all together,” Patron shares.

But as of now, the company will still source their premiere products to companies who demand top of the line communication technology products. And as the Philippine IT industry continues to boom, expect that Alliance Technology would search for the latest gadgets, trends, and developments from the world’s top technology and system providers.
